Titchmarsh Reserve By John ShowersYou might be feeling more inclined to stay indoors and prepare for hibernation, but there is no better time of year to swap your slippers for wellies and enjoy the wildlife that the Nene Valley is most famous for – its over-wintering birds. Lapwing are already flocking to the new scrape at Irthlingborough Lakes and Meadows and water rail have been spotted at Storton’s Pits. And don’t miss out at Titchmarsh where starlings have been putting on a spectacular aerial display as they gather in huge murmurations over the reedbed.
