We’re highlighting a different product each day of Advent in the shop this month; some Christmassy and others just part of the normal stock that we think you’d like to know about. To start us off, we have…
Fry’s Family Soy & Quinoa Country Roast
Fry’s launched this product at London VegFest in October this year and it’s a welcome addition to their already varied and tasty range of vegan food. It’s a little like a traditional nut roast in appearance but has a delicious, sausage-y texture and taste. It’s delicious hot or cold and would make a delicious addition on Christmas Day as it sits really well with roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and vegetables.
After defrosting fully, you can roast it or steam it and there are approximately 5 servings per roast. It’s high in protein and omega 3 fatty acids and low in fat, so it’s a good healthy alternative! All the packaging is recyclable – a card sleeve, a plastic case and a foil tray to cook it in. It’s also GMO-free, so it’s good for you and the planet!
It costs £4.35 at Hornett Wholefoods, against a RRP of £5.50, until the end of the month.
We also stock Fry’s Chicken Style Strips which are ideal for stir fries; Veggie Mince, good for bolognaise and Shepherd’s Pie (both £3.13 for 380g) and a Polony slicing sausage which you can use in stews and sliced on toast (£3.57 for 500g).
